how do you go about getting a patent without getting a lawyer?

a friend of mine has a idea and would like to see about getting a patent without going through a lawyer,any help and ideas where can i buy prescription drugs without a prescription would be great.
Patent work is so incredibly complicated and takes so long that anyone who tries to do it themselves, or with anyone other than an experienced attorney specializing in Intellectual Property law, is going to lose their patent application fee and all the money they spend developing their specifications and prototype.
Either hire an IP attorney, or do not get a patent.
